Can you try to disable your firewall temporarily to check if that helps when connecting with WinSCP?

Can you share a log file both from WinSCP and SmartFTP?

An MX record is returned but no A record—indicating the host itself exists, but is not directly reachable." ...but I'm none the wiser. I think I'm out of my depth with this program. I'll stick to SmartFTP.

A new user to the program......"The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for." What does this mean please?
I'm not getting anywhere :((
