This is actually the standard Windows edit box behavior.

CTRL+Backspace prints special char instead of deleting previous word

Being in the bookmarks view and entering a path like "/tmp/FOO" pressing CTRL+BACKSPACE should result in "/foo/". Instead, a special character appears like shown in the attachment "2016-10-06 16_30_08-Clipboard.png"
