to be more precise

Hey, it's again me (Antonio Z, registered now).
Version of WinSCP I'm using: 5.9.4.
I'm sure I had sometimes the same problem also with 5.9.3 and one before (I don't know the exact release), but with 5.9.4 it happens always few seconds after opening a new session.
I'm on Win 7x64 Enterprise with SP1.
Protocol: SFTP port 22.
I use the GUI with Explorer style.
I've just discovered that the problem occurs always even I don't chose any machine to connect to, after about 30 seconds after opened the GUI.

Regards and good luck.

Antonio

Same issue as before also with 5.9.4

Unfortunately I have the same problem with 5.9.4, "Not Responding" and I need always to close it.
I open often two separate sessions (instead of multiple tabs) to easily drag and drop files from one machine to another.
I have to keep switching to an alternative version on a different PC (it's a 5.1.4, but still works great!) to do a simple copy (less than 10 text files each time).
Please let me know what to do.

Freezes on near every file upload

Hello.

My WinSCP session (window) got freeze on near every file upload. "near" because it does not happen sometimes but happens on 90-95% of uploads (what i observed: 1) it happens rarely if there was upload in recent 60 seconds and/or if the badge displaying the uploaded files exists 2) it happens rarely if this is a new clean connection never used before or just created 3) it happens rarely if you've just rebooted PC but it becomes much more frequent if you don't reboot PC for some days ).

My best assumption is that it is related to temporary files. I am using the following winscp settings related to temporary files which may be a trigger for a problem:
"add connection name to path"
"add server path to path"
"store temporary copies on fixed paths"

and i do not clean up temporary files. It is important for me, because i am working with documents on text editor without closing them (more than 1000 files concurrently).

Here's what i've tried:
1. Recently Upgraded windows to windows 10.
2. Recently Upgraded PC to performance one. I am using Intel Core i7-6700k (4.7 GHz overclock) cpu , 64 GB high frequency RAM, SSD 950 PRO NVMe 512 GB (fastest SSD i know)
3. Clean up of temporary winscp directory. While it is a big problem for me (i can't do that), it did not help at all.
4. Moving temporary directory to RAMDISK (work from RAM, not from disk). Did not change anything.

Other notes:
The problem is unlikely on PC or Windows, because only WinSCP freezes on the problem. On winscp freeze, all other things works very fast and never freeze.
The problem happens on Windows XP, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. I did not try others.
This problem does not ever happen if i will use any other ftp client like filezilla.
PC's load does not make any sense there, because it happens on idle state as well.
File saving is done using Notepad++ editor.
Problem does not related to number of open sessions. I have only one session with 4 connected servers. But it also happen with just 1 connected server.
I am using latest winscp version i know 5.9.3 (build 7136) (plain installer, not portable) on Windows 10 64-bit operating system.
I have around 1000 connections added to winscp pool.
I am using file transfers on background.
I have more than 100 GB free on my hard drive.
File save on other software do not cause any freeze, it happens in milliseconds.
I can detect the 'freeze' state because the icon of WinSCP window changes to not winscp's, but to standart Windows icon (not sure how to call it).
I am using 'commander' interface.
I am storing winscp settings in ini file (not registry).
I think it may be related to explorer.exe process or the way how WinSCP or Windows work with files. Because explorer.exe is also a problem for me. Some problems like can not rename happens usually and dirty fixes (provided by Windows community on their official website) used to fix it. And basic working with files on Windows native functions freezes sometimes also. But it never happens on Total Commander and similar things which works with files. I think it is related to windows API's (total commander works differently).

I want also to notice that WinSCP freezes / lags a lot even on other tasks while i'm just working with it. 1) When i open winscp, it took 10 seconds to load (there are already opened window(s)). 2) When session closed/disconnects, it took 10-15 seconds for window to choose new session appear. 3) When i open a file on remote server, it (winscp) freezes for 1-10 seconds for file to open in notepad++ which is my main editor [it usually happen if you open this file first time in few minutes, but if you will open repeatedly, it usually near instant].
I don't know the reasons of it. But that do not happen on any other program. In filezilla all is instant, never lag.

My questions:
1. Is there any solution to my problem?
2. Maybe there are some configuration options which i can change to make it not freeze or less chance to freeze?
3. Maybe there exists some stable / performance-minded version/fork of WinSCP? Or maybe i can recompile WinSCP with some custom options to make it to not freeze?

I work with winscp 6 hours a day and this problem kills me. It happens already for few years. I will appreciate any help. File with all of my settings attached (i've removed sessions from there, because i save passwords).

P.S. I was trying to make log file, but this file is always empty.

Thanks for listening.
