We do not provide a support for old versions of WinSCP.
WinSCP is security-related software, you have to use the latest version.

Re: usr, pwd: max and illegal char & exe protocols (poor search skills)

WinSCP login dialog accepts up to 100 characters for username and password (the latest version 5.11.1).
WinSCP does not have any explicit limitation for characters used in credentials (but a server typically will).
Yes, WinSCP supports FTPS and FTPES.

usr, pwd: max and illegal char & exe protocols (poor search skills)

Hi,

I looked but couldn't find (sorry), for WinSCP 5.5.6.0:
- what is the maximum character length allowed for username and password?
- Are there any illegal characters that cannot be used for username and/or password?
- can I use the exe for ftps and/or ftpes transfers?
