MFT server connection issue

When connecting to the MFT server (mft.sampleserver.com) which protocol should I use? I am using SFTP protocol along with my Username and Password but I am getting 'Access Denied' result. Can't I connect MFT server with WinScp? Or is there some kind of set up before connecting MFT? Also, I am able to connect both SFTP and FTP servers.
