That's not much.
Did you check CPU load of the server during the transfer?
Did you test any other client?

Hi all,
Should the speed be this low?

My transfer speed is only at most 50kbyte/sec. ordinary ftp connection gives me almost 300kbyte/sec. (they are not on the same LAN)

The server is a debian PII-350MHz 256meg memory latest OpenSSH
and my client pc is a 2.53GHz P4.

I've tested to use SSH1 only when connecting, but just as slow!?
