I know, i was just trying to show you when you map network drive with url (https) windows does use webdav for it...

That's not WebDAV, not even URL.

Allway sync does use it's own webdav method.

But the "Map network drive" does not use WebDAV, or at least not pure WebDAV.

I have same issue. Would like to connect with WebDAV method to sharepoint online (e.g. WinSCP return 403 Forbidden and after further analyzing it seems because of X-MSDAVEXT_Error.
Have tried the mentioned koskile link, but does not work. On connect with spo it ask for login, but when entering correct auth data it returns error "Current site is not a tenant administration site" or when not in domain "You can't get there from here".
This is not only issue of WinSCP, as a lot of programs seem to have this issue (f.e. cyberduck, total commander, filezilla, etc).
But there is proof it can work, as when map network drivein explorer with this url it does work and also the program "Allway Sync" is able to connect succesfully.
