As I wrote before, you should contact your server administrator.
This does not seem like a problem of WinSCP.

Can you post also a log file of a successful connection?

I'm only a simple user, so I apologise in advance if I've missed anything

Getting a weird issue where sometimes the server refuses connection, sometimes it doesn't but details aren't changed. I'm using SFTP and a password to connect

I can't seem to find a case prior where it's got "Server sent: ", usually it seems to be Key related
