I am a basic user and cannot figure out how to do this. In my old FTP software, I could just type in the dir >dir.txt like in Windows (may have been ls or lls instead but cannot recall - it has been a while).

Anyway, without learning way too much stuff I will probably never use again, is there a simple way to get this? I want to use the file name and file size in a document.
