The sftp protocol worked. I told the user to remove the set, there is no reason I can find for it to be there.

Sorry OS is AIX 5.1 5.2 5.3 and redhat 6 or 7.. I forget what is on this box under the desk.. does it in ksh sh and bash.. with set- u in .profile and .bash_profile on linux

set -u problem
Ran into an issue connectint to openssh with set -u in the users dot profile. After authenticating .. get the following error.
Error detecting variable containing retrune code of last command
Connection has been unexpectedly closed. Server sent command exit status 1.
winscp version 3.6.7 talking to openssh 3.4 and 3.8
The strange thing is the user claims this worked in the recent past and the profile had not been changed...
Any insite??
