Yes indeed, matching explicit path is not supported.

You can use location profiles instead of simple bookmarks, as a way to "bookmark" matching local and remote directories.

If you use CTRL-O to open a directory or bookmark with Synchronized Browsing enabled the remote path is changed, but the local path isn't.
