The WSL API probably does not support file system changes notification.

Error setting up "keep remote directory up to date" between WSL2 and remote

I'm able to connect to my remote, browse local and remote files, and use the synchronize feature. However, when I attempt to "keep remote directory up to date" I receive the error
Error watching for changes in directory
<my local WSL2 file path>
System Error. Code 1.
Incorrect function.
