WinSCP crashes everytime

I have winscp 3.8.2 and everytime i start the program...an error shows up saying that the desktop does not exist. then after i login, i can not really do anything because it keeps saying that the directories do not exist. Everything was working fine but now all of a sudden I can't do anything. It won't let me uninstall and it also won't let me install a newer version. Anyone know what the problem is?
