Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I've just downloaded 4.0.6, and it hasn't happened yet with this version. I'll send you a mail if it recurs, as I'd be happy to help with debugging. :)

The general pattern of behaviour is that WinSCP times out on an FTP connection, brings up its modal Reconnect/Close window, I click Close and it never seems to manage closing and has to be killed via the task manager.

4.0.5 on XP Home, English.
