Reconnect fails when a banner is received from the server

Hello,
I've the following error when reconnecting to an SFTP server that sends a banner before authentification.
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Received unexpected packet in response to authentication request, type 6468524 (unknown)
---------------------------
Registro de autenticación (véase registro de sesión para más detalles):
Usando el nombre de usuario «igrid64».

Autenticación fallida.
---------------------------
Aceptar Volver a conectar Ayuda
---------------------------
This only happens on reconnection. Sometimes if I click continue fast enough it will reconnect successfully. Also if I check the box for 'Don't show this message again' of the banner, I will always reconnect successfully.

I'll attach the log file of a few attempts.

I would like to know if this is a problem with the configuration of the banner?

Thanks

The attached log is not complete. And it does not generate this way on its own. You must have removed its leading part. If you do not have the original anymore, please repeat the test and post new log. Thanks.

I've tried to test this scenario with OpenSSH server, but it works without any problems. It might be something specific to your wolfSSH server. Can I have a test account on the server?

Hi, it won't be possible to give you a test account. But I also tried it on an OpenBSD server and it happens. I'll attach the log of that too.

I've notice that if I click continue on the banner pop up fast enough it does not fail sometimes. But if you wait a little bit it always fails.

Thanks. I was able to reproduce the problem. But only with Debug 2 level logging enabled. Are you able to reproduce the problem with Normal logging or even with logging turned off?

Anyway, I'm sending you an email with a development version of WinSCP to the address you have used to register on this forum.

I have added this issue to the tracker:
Issue 2474 – Failure when SSH authentication banner is displayed while reconnecting a session
