WinSCP removes files from server after transfer

I did Google searches and searches of this forum, but I can't seem to find an answer.

When I use the drag-and-drop shell extension to drag a remote file to a local folder, the remote file always deletes after the transfer.

I haven't been able to find any setting that controls this -- the only thing I could find is the -delete flag, but my program shortcuts don't include a -delete flag.

The remote file is not removed when i drag-and-drop to the local folder in the WinSCP window, so I guess this is only an issue with the Windows shell extension.

My information:
WinSCP 6.1.6 Build 412
Windows XP Professional

Session protocol = SSH-2
SSH implementation = Sun_SSH_1.1
Encryption algorithm = aes
Compression = No
File transfer protocol = SFTP-3
------------------------------------------------------------
Can change permissions = Yes
Can change owner/group = No
Can execute arbitrary command = No
Can create symlink/hardlink = Yes/No
Can lookup user groups = No
Can duplicate remote files = No
Can check available space = No
Can calculate file checksum = No
Native text (ASCII) mode transfers = No
------------------------------------------------------------
Additional information
The server does not support any SFTP extension.

Anyone know if I accidentally turned a setting off, or there's a bug in the shell extension?

Thanks all!

Please read FAQ (<invalid hyperlink removed by admin>). If that does not help, come back.

Re: WinSCP removes files from server after transfer

Since 5.14, it is always possible to use drag&drop to move remote files to external applications, while copy is always the default operation.
