Cannot remove temporary directory

Hi all.
Error message is "Cannot remove temporary directory: ...".
Please tell me how to deal with this message. It appears when I close the editor after editing a remote file.
Thank you in advance for your kindly support.

Cannot remove temporary directory, using VIM

This error only happens when using VIM (6.2) with WinSCP3 (V3.3.0 build 177)

If using the inbuilt editor, or VIM stand alone there is no problem.

The temp directories are:
C:\Documents and Settings\aburnside\Local Settings\Temp\scp*

The file system is FAT32, OS is Win2000 5.0.2195 SP3

Hi all,
Terribly sorry for my late response. My editor is UltraEdit-32 version 10.10a. I am using WinXP SP1.
Alistair Burnside, I don't know if there is something like an error of WinSCP or it's a mistake of my side.
Anyway, WinSCP helps me much. Thank you for your support.

What editor are you using? Where is your temporary directory located?

Hi,
I am getting the same message. It says, "Cannot remove temporary directory 'C:\(my temporary directory)\scp52777\'

This happens when I am trying to open up a Microsoft Word file. My temporary directory is located on my desktop. When I close WinSCP, the folders in the temporary directory are still there. However, I am able to delete them when WinSCP is closed.

Was Word opened (with another file) before you've tried to open a file from WinSCP? Did the error appeared immediatelly or after the document or Word was closed?

OK, I observed this with more detail. It only happens when the edited doc is changed. I observed that, at closing the editor, the file is renamed to .bak just before attempting to delete the temp folder; probably this is the reason for the problem (trying to delete before the renaming process completed ???). Anyhow, why bothering making a .bak file, when the temp folder containing it is going to be deleted imediately afterwards !!!

WinSCP does not make any backup file. It is probably your editor who makes it. Try to turn off backuping. Let me know.

I'll probably delete all files in temp folder in next version.

OK prikryl, turning off backup does it; I don't get that message any more. Of course, it would be nice to have the problem fixed in some next version... Thanks.

I have changed it already last evening, so whole directory is removed (including any file within). Please wait for the next release.
