hidpi support?

Does or will WinSCP support hidpi screens? I don't see anything in preferences which allows one to specify fonts or dpi. Thanks.

What support do you mean? WinSCP follows global Windows DPI settings.

I use a Windows configuation with 200% scaling. Everything is fine with text, but the menu icons are very small (as you can see in the screenshot).
Not sure if this is what BobBagwill meant, but for me this is the only scaling problem and it would be great if this could be worked out.

Thanks for your report. We are aware that the icons do not scale. We plan to fix this in a long term. But it's quite expensive to get another larger set of icons. And less than 1% of our users use scaling above 125%, let alone 200%.

sorry to hear that, but of course I understand your point.
But more and more 4k displays are coming to market, so I hope that this problem can be addressed soon, I would really like to switch from FileZilla to WinSCP....
Maybe there is a way to let the icons scale, without having to buy a licence for a new icon pack?

Do you mean to force the present icons to be larger (but ugly)?

Yes, at least for me this would be the prefered short-term (or mid-term :wink: ) solution.
currently it is very hard to press the right button due to the small size.
I'm working on an 15" notebook with 4k resolution, 200% windows scaling. My expectation is that scaled icons would't look worse than any non retina-optimized graphics in other programs or the normal icon on an 1080p screen.
So if you could make them scale with the rest of the gui I would be more than happy :)

I'd like to add my vote for this too. My new Lenovo ThinkPad has a 3K HiDPI display set to 200% scaling. HiDPI definitely seems to be becoming more popular now what with the Microsoft's own Surface Pro plus Lenovo, Dell, Toshiba, ASUS and various others offering HiDPI displays on their laptops, not to mention the new generation of 4K monitors getting more popular by the day.

As a stopgap, I'm finding that the apps that do pixel-doubling work better than those that don't do any scaling other than text. You can see the pixels, sure, but I find that this is much more usable AND it looks better than the non-scaled, tiny, often distorted UI. Take a look at the following screenshot (click "view original" to see full size), which compares Rapid Environment Editor, which does pixel doubling, with WinSCP. You can see with your software, some of the small icons are unusably small:

Scott Hanselman wrote a post about the problems with HiDPI on Windows just over a year ago:

Things have improved a fair bit since then. Most of the problem software he mentions in that post has been fixed (apart from SQL Server Management Studio, which is so bad I'm having to use Navicat instead).
