I cannot upload some files, access is denied

I cannot upload some files, system error code 5, access is denied.
I'm using WinSCP 5.7.6 Windows 8.1 using FTP.
Do I have to send you the files that won't upload?

What "some files"? How do they differ to files that you can upload?

The file is plain text but with a de-facto .upload file type.

How's that a plain text file? That's a binary file. What are the files you can upload?

Show us a session log file showing one failed and one successful upload.

I tried to change the permissions on the files and found this.

I have no idea how to give myself permissions to read/write the file if the check boxes and ok button is grayed out.

Can you make a copy of the file in Windows Explorer at the same time WinSCP is failing to upload the file?

Yes. I was told I need administrator permissions to copy the file, so I clicked "continue" then it copied.

OK, so the file is locked by another application. So unlock it.

I used a program called Process Explorer to see what processes are using/locking files, and I found that the file(s) was not being used or locked by any process.4

Update
I figured out how to change the permissions on the files. It took 17 clicks for each file in Windows terrible interface. :evil:
