Connect to a device for SCP support.
Transferred the file from PC to device.
Reboot the device and the IP address changed.
Click refresh button. Waited until timeout occurred.
The "Abort" screen displayed, but changed to the "Reconnect..." screen before I could click "Abort...".
Click "Reconnect..." button.

1) I had a connection to my locally running VM
2) My laptop was in airplane mode
3) put my laptop into a low-power state, by closing it (i believe it was sleep, not hibernate)
4) 20minutes later, logged on, wireless network connection was attempted, but any connection was blocked by WinSCP [pings work]
5) crashed

The Find window was open and left open for a long time. The connection to the SFTP site must have booted my session and WinSCP didn't handle it nicely since the Find window was open.

I left WinSCP at the login screen and walked away. When I returned an hour or so later, I tried to close the application. The application at that time started to display the error message. LOTS of error messages displayed over each other, and all seemed to be referencing a different memory address. Very weird and I've never had that occur before. I ended up using Task Manager to close the app. On restart, WinSCP launches, connects and runs as expected. May be a one-off...or not?

The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.

I closed WinSCP after I'd rebooted the computer it was SSH'd to - the lost contact dialogue box was open. I then got the reported error message - the box displaying it was flickering and i could only close it by starting Task Manager and ending the WinSCP process from there.
It's only happened once (just now) and I've closed WinSCP down in this manner a few times today without any problems.

The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.

After the host computer rebooted, WinSCP lost connection. It asked me to reconnect.
I am not sure if i answered the message with no or tried to close the message with the x in the message header.

the error message popped up in an endless loop and i had to close winscp using the windows task manager.

If I leave the connection going, disconnect my laptop from the network, reconnect via VPN, then *return* to the original network, I get this error on loop, and I have to force-quit the application.

Disconnect due to timeout. When I hit cancel, I get a never-ending pile of these invalid memory access message boxes
