BUG after last update°

I updated February 23 2020 and then one of my two websites was lost!
WinSCP had a new appearance even before login and this time showed the local directory in the left pane and the right pane was empty. After clicking login it worked normally.

But I have another website that should display another local directory but was stuck at the local directory for the above mentioned site instead. Clicking for login at that other site, the left pane did not change! And the login failed! WinSCP instead requested a password but did not accept the one I entered, but instead started to search for the host...
I cannot keep trying, since the website provider turns the access off after just a few tries and should open access later...

PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS BIG BAD BUG!!!! URGENTLY!

PS: As a workaround I can change the directory in the left window manually between the local directories for Website 1 and Website 2, resp. But this should, of course, take place automatically when I log in for Website 2 and not stay at the local directory for website 1! It did so before the update and then the left window appeared only after login, and then correctly.

Re: BUG after last update°

The local panel path changes only after a successful login. And it always did. I do not think this has changed in the last update.

Can you confirm that it does work his way, once you manage to actually log in?

Latest version of WinSCP, updated.
I can only confirm that
1. The appearance is different after update. The left window is there even before clicking login, but the right window is empty. Before update the left window was not there but only a login panel.
2. If the right directory is the left window, I can login and start. But the directory does not change automatically, yet I can choose it manually. If it is not the one pertaining to the website I want to log in to, but the other one, login fails. If it is the right directory, login works.
How can I now get the same appearance already at start as I had before the update?
Just a login window and no directories shown, where the proper directories appear left and right only after login?

But this is not a new behaviour. It's been like that for some time already. Maybe you have not updated for a long time?

Can you post a session log file for both scenarios?

It's not possible to change the appearance to the old style. Though, I believe these two things are not directly connected. I believe we can sort your connection problems. Please post the logs.

Earlier, the Session window appeared only, and no directory columns, until I logged in on one of me websites. Then the directories were shown, both sides.
That is how I would like to have it again...

Where do I find that log file?

Sorry, WinSCP does not support that behavior anymore.

Where do I find that log file?
See https://winscp.net/eng/docs/ui_pref_logging

Well, it seems to me that WinSCP was better before and that it may be time to look for an alternative...
Anyway, I have a log file, but it seems to include some rather personal information. How can I send it to you in a personal and secure way?

Can you please explain, why does it bother you, that WinSCP now opens the Login dialog over the main window?

Just attach it to a post here on the forum and mark the attachment as private.

It bothers me that it does not switch to another local directory when I click the corresponding login.
My website 1 opens the source directory now and then on top the login overlay. It logs in OK.
But for my other Website 2 I have to manually change the local directory to another one which has the source files for that website. It does not change that automatically but before it did!

Until that is fixed, the program was better before!
It appears that it did not come come to the mind of some programmers that a user may have more than one website!
Please change it back...

I understand that. But I have explained already couple of times that it has nothing to do with Login dialog opening over the main window. And you still keep complaining about that.

You are the only one who has this problem. It must be something specific about your WinSCP configuration or the way you use WinSCP. So once again, please post the log.

I have asked you for logs for "both scenarios".

You have posted one log only, without explaining, what scenario does it document. Also some comment about the paths would also be helpful. What directories did you expect to open and what directories did it open instead?

If you want us to resolve your problem, we need as much information as possible.
