Sync button switching itself off again

I have had to make new entries because my own website has moved to a new host. Until now I only ever had to click the Sync button (the square icon with two green arrows) at the top once, and it stayed as "Sync on" no matter how many times I started up and ended WinSCP. (unless I physically switched it off, which I very rarely do).
But now it switches itself off again when I close WinSCP. Is there any setting I need to check to make it stay "on" until I physically switch it off ?
