Re: Annoyance when copying File Names

I can't generate a log as I'm using the local mode. Instead, I'll tell you the exact steps to reproduce it.

  1. create 2 files or folders. Name one without any spaces (this_is_a_test), and the other with spaces (this is a test).
  2. Press Ctrl+A, then Shift+Ctrl+C (or Ctrl+Alt+C).
  3. Paste the results into notepad or any other text editor.
  4. Notice how the file/folder with spaces will be wrapped in quotations ("this is a test"), while the other one won't (this_is_a_test).

Re: Annoyance when copying File Names

Please attach a full session log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

Annoyance when copying File Names

For some reason, filenames containing one or more spaces are wrapped with quotations. Would it be possible to wrap them all with quotations, or none at all?

Here is an example of 2 copied filenames
