Since 5.2.5, WinSCP assumes that all servers use UTF-8 encoding:

It's probably not be the case for you server.

Set session setting UTF-8 Encoding for Filenames to Off:
https://winscp.net/eng/docs/ui_login_environment#utf

No Cyrillic names in panels

Version: winscp550setup.exe
OS: Windows XP SP2

Whenever connecting to SFTP server for file tranfer with new version 5.5.0 (Build 3839), no Cyrillic names in file shown, only extensions shown. Look screenshot.

In version 5.1.7 there was no problems with Cyrillic names.
