I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean that you expect WinSCP to do nothing, when you explicitly drag a file that already exists in the target folder? That seems counterintuitive to me.

2) For incomplete files due to connection error etc, it is also the same, transfer will just overwrite and start from beginning, it will not resume or continue from last incomplete transfer.

Please attach a full session log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

How to resume transfer?

Dear technical support,
I have 2 issue with Winscp:
1) Each time when i download files from FTP server to my PC, it will overwrite and download again from beginning even if i have 100% downloaded complete file in my PC. Meaning, the transfer will not skip completed file, it will just download whenever i manually drag file from ftp to my pc. May I know how to skip completed file when i do manual transfer?
2) For incomplete files due to connection error etc, it is also the same, transfer will just overwrite and start from beginning, it will not resume or continue from last incomplete transfer.
Is there a setting that i can solve the 2 problems above? I did not change the default preference setting.
Wish to hear from you soon.
