Login Password Authentication SFTP

We use WinSCP to connect to an SFTP server. For some reason, when we hit the 10day warning before the password will expire for any user, the ability to use WinSCP is locked out and the user cannot login. We have a website portal to the SFTP and the user can go the portal and login. So we know the username and password are still good. We don’t see any reason to have the user locked out from WinSCP during this 10day warning period before the password expires. Any suggestions to a possible bug in the GUI software or is there some incompatibility with password expirations or request for password changes based on the type of SFTP server being used?

Thank you

Carlos

Re: Login Password Authentication SFTP

Do have different experience with other SFTP clients?

Please attach a full session log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.
