Mapped network-drives not visible in list of local drives

Problem:
WinSCP shows only the following local "drives" in Commander-view:
– MyDocuments
– Desktop
– C: Windows
All other mapped network drives are not listed!

Any idea? 
net use
OK           H:        \\server1\share1           Microsoft Windows Network
OK           I:        \\server2\share2\sub1\sub2 Microsoft Windows Network
Nicht verfgb K:        \\server3\share3           Microsoft Windows Network
OK           M:        \\IP1\share4               Microsoft Windows Network
OK           N:        \\IP2\share5               Microsoft Windows Network
Version of WinSCP:
– v5.1.2 (build 2816)
– v5.1.4 (build 3020)
– (also tried older versions -> without any effect)

Windows:
– v7 Enterprise / SP 1

Transfer protocol (not related to problem):
– SFTP, FTP, SCP

GUI (Commander or Explorer):
– Commander (as local drives are only shown in "Commander view")

fixed:
I always started winscp with "as admin" (checkbox was ticked in properties).
Deactivating this feature again shows me all network drives mapped to "my" user.

@Snl: Did you check that it's not the same issue as with @witty? I.e. that you run WinSCP "as administrator"?

Problem Accessing the mapped devices

Hi Prikryl,

I'am facing the same issue. I've tried "run as admin" and without "run as admin". The local mapped drives are not visible in winscp. I am using win8. can you please email me the solution at abynv@rediffmail.com

Just so happened that I am facing similar issues using winscp via a .net application.
Was hoping you could provide a debug version to me too, so we can investigate?

Hi,

I have the same problem.

Version 5.7.3 (Build 5438).

I just see my local drives but not the network drives.

I am using Commander interface.

I have tested using as administrator or not and this is similar, I don't see network drives.

Any idea?

Hi,

To explain the situation :
We are connected on machine WTOPS85CH.
Then we run a Citrix connection to another server from where we use WinSCP.

That's why we can see two C: drives (first one is the local C: of connected server, the second one is the C: from the original server).

From this connected server where we use WinSCP, in Explorer M: is a Network Drive and is accessible (check attachment1).
But in DOS, this M: is not visible : 
D:\>dir M:\
The system cannot find the path specified.
D:\>
So do you think I can find a tip to see them in WinSCP?

I do not know how Citrix works.

To see a drive in WinSCP you have to map it to a drive letter. Those drives are not mapped (contrary to the subject of this topic).

@sathia: As mentioned above, this topic is actually not about mapped drives. So how's your issue the "same"? Is it about the citrix (or other) network nodes? Or really about mapped drives?

Mapped Drives not showing

Hi, I just downloaded version 5.9.6, which i previously had on my computer but got a new harddrive. Running Windows 7. I can no longer see my mapped drives when I am in the FTp, only C and D drives.

@SummerK: Show us a screenshot of both WinSCP and Windows explorer. Make sure both are running with the same privileges.

view network drives when connected with "run as admin"

Hi,

in my case, I need to run winscp with a different account with more privilèges. and I would like to see my network drives

this is an exemple of what i did :

my user abc
my PC
drive v = \\server1\share\all\team1

i connect myself with the high security user abc-5 and define the drive as permanent
drive z = \\server1\share\all\team1

the users abc and abc-5 have both access to the folder on \\server1

run as admin as abc-5
in the advance setting, i tried both with the Advanced -> environment, folder, local folder V: and Z:
and it didn't work. i don't see neither V or Z

i connect in Windows with abc-5 and connect winscp without the "run as admin" option and it works for Z:

what i need to do is to connect with the run as admin option and see the Z: for abc-5

is it doable ? if yes, what is missing in my steps ?

WinSCP sees the same drives as any other application. There's nothing specific about WinSCP.

@Dessureaults: Please start by posting a screenshot both from WinSCP and Windows Explorer, showing list of drives.

@Xero: But that's a server-side panel. What folders (or drives) do you see on the server, is all about server configuration. That has nothing to do with WinSCP.

@Xero: I understand that. But that fact that your remote system has the drive mapped, does not mean that FTP/SFTP server have to expose them the a client. That's all about how the FTP/SFTP server is configured. And that has nothing to do with WinSCP.

Found a solution!

In my case I was running it as a LiberKey portable app, so the executable being run was WinSCPLKL.exe. I ran the original WinSCP.exe directly and my mapped drives magically appeared.

Those that run it as a PortableApps portable app may also have the same issue.

Upgraded from WinSCP 5.15.3 to 5.15.9, mapped drive missing

Just upgraded from WinSCP 5.15.3 to 5.15.9; mapped drive previously visible in WinSCP is no longer visible for selection & use.

**Update: while not able to see/select mapped drive, was able to browse to the mapped drive's actual address under "Network" & connect there. While issue is resolved, would still like to know if possible to view mapped drives in 5.15.9 version.

WinSCP not showing Mapped Drive like Z:

I had this issue – unable to see my local mapped drives.
It seems that if you run the WinSCP.exe from command prompt – the drives are not visible, much less to access them.
But if I run the installed WinSCP.exe – then mapped drives are visible and accessible.
