Lauching app fails (PuTTy Fatal error, Out of Memory)

I have a Windows 2000 SP2 workstation and have connected to my Solaris box with Putty and teraterm via SSH across a firewall.
However, when I launch the WinSCP, after filling in the hostname (IP), username and password (port is left at 22) I get an error: as follows:
PuTTy Fatal error, Out of Memory

I have sufficent system memory (128 Mb) and it is not maxed out.

Any thoughts?
TIA

I suppose that you've tried WinSCP1. Please, try WinSCP2 instead.

Ok, that works. But where is the difference between version 1 and 2?
Just the protocol from ssh?
Thanks,

I don't understand your question. What difference? You find it unusual that old version does not work in certain situation, while a new one works fine?
