SFTP GET fails with v5.0.5 (Build 1782)

Hi Martin,
Thanks for such an awesome piece of software. It really serves its purpose well.

I'd like to notify you of a potential bug that's preventing GET operations via SFTP.
PUT operations work correctly.

Scenario:
SFTP Server: Serv-U v11.1.0.7 running on Windows 2008 R2 x64
Client: WinSCP v5.0.5 Build 1782 running from any client.
Login via username with private key

When attempting an SFTP GET of either a single or multiple files, the transfer fails in all cases.

Example:
winscp> get example.txt
example.txt               |          0 KiB |    0.0 KiB/s | ascii  |   0%
Copying files from remote side failed.
Invalid handle.
Error code: 9
Error message from server (en): Invalid handle.
Request code: 5
winscp>

I get the same result using either Binary or ASCII modes.

When I fall-back to v4.3.6.1655, the transfer works correctly.

Log files from both versions attached.
(user/host specific details have been changed to privacy & security)

Thanks for any help possible :)

Regards,
Tim

Quick update - I just tested this with old v5.0.0.1431 and the transfer still fails.

So it seems to be an issue with all v5.x version.

Thanks. Will come back to you.

Is there any way to do debug logging from the command line please?
Enable it in the GUI first.

Hi Martin,
I appreciate any help you might be able to give. Have you had a chance to look into my debug logs at all please?

I do not see any problem on WinSCP side. The command that fails on 5.0.5 is exactly the same as the one on 4.3.6. Any change of getting a test account on your server?

Unfortunately not directly, no. It's an internal SFTP server.

I'm more than happy to run a remote WebEx session with you to demonstrate, or run a debug version of v5.x and send back the logs.

If you'd prefer to see it yourself directly via a WebEx session, we can co-ordinate a time convenient to you. I'm in Sydney, Australia (UTC+11).

Kind regards,
Tim

Hi Martin,
Sorry for the delay in replying.

I can confirm that the WinSCP Version 5.0.6 (Build 2027) that you supplied works correctly! :D
I've attached the DEBUG-2 logs in case it offers you any more details.

Thanks very much for a speedy response.
I'm looking forward to the v5.x stable release :)

Keep up the great work.
Tim
