WinSCP does not connect....

Hi all,

about 6 months ago I tried winscp for a "one-time" experience. I downloaded the software, installed, provided the login data...
WOW, it worked, I could reach out to another server and push data there.... I was impressed!
However, at that point in time I thought I won't use anymore and uninstalled. What a mistake!

Today, I feel my previous decision was wrong and have re-installed version 4.3.8.Same PC (w7, sp1), same target PC, same login data...

But this time it doesn't work at all (timeout error). Friends told me I should check the windows firewall. It was on and it was switched off then on purpose. It is still not working.

BTW, I can ping the target server, it is online!!!

Any idea?

Are you sure you are using the same protocol?
Please post a log file.

I assume yes, because I just installed the software and used it "as is".
