real basic question for first time user

hi, this is real basic and feel stupid asking, but, in the login screen,beneath the user name and password boxes is another box labeled account....what is this field for??
i know its a basic question but i only downloaded today so....i was just wondering

Some FTP servers needs Account as an additional authentication information. If you do not have one, just ignore it.
