overwrite log file

how can I overwrite the log file using command

winscp.exe TESTUSER /console /script="C:\docs\bat\winscp.txt" /log="c:\docs\bat\winscp.log"

I see int he windows gui on the logging tab (window) I can set the overwrite option how can I do this using the scripting or commands?

This cannot be set on command-line. You have to configure it in the GUI.

If you set the configuration in the GUI for how log files should be generated (i.e. overwrite), do those rules then apply to any script commands?

Though in the recent versions of WinSCP, you should set it using the /rawconfig switch instead. See:
