Topic "import ini file?"

I am able to export to a WinSCP.ini file (from preferences), but I can't see where I can import it? I'm moving to a new laptop, and I've installed WinSCP, and I would like to import all of my sites and setting from my old laptop.

Thanks.

Please read documentation:
https://winscp.net/eng/docs/config#transfer

If that does not help, come back.

I currently do not have an .ini file in my program directory. If I change the Storage in Preferences (change it to Windows registy, Save, and then go back and change it to INI file), I get an error when I press OK:
Confused Can't create file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\WinSCP.ini'
System Error. Code: 5.
Access is denied

Is there a way I can get it to use an .ini file in a different directory?

Thanks.

Use /ini= command-line parameter:
https://winscp.net/eng/docs/commandline#configuration
