Copying files to remote side failed

WinSCP 5.5
Error message:
Copying files to remote side failed.
Invalid access to memory.
The other end keeps failing the SSH rekey (from the putty log), and have been going through MULTIPLE cycles of this. It's taken a week to transfer a 4G file. That's their problem. WinSCP's problem is that it apparently doesn't handle this weel.
