Error Cannot upload new index.html

As I want to upload my new homepage I started uploadeing the files and it works. But I have a standard index.html file on that server, which I cannot replace with my index.html.
This is what I get and I hope you can help!?

cannot create remote file '...index.html'
no such file or directory
error code: 2
error message from server: no such file(*)
request code: 3

Have you tried to delete the default file first? Can you post full log file?
