Timeout waiting for WinSCP to respond.

We are using WinSCP.dll in C#.net to download files from sFTP server.

Sometimes it gives below error and it is not resolved until we restart our server.

"Timeout waiting for WinSCP to respond - Log file C:\Users\SQLSvrsvc\AppData\Local\Temp\wscp0D78.0265601D.tmp was not created in time, please make sure WinSCP has write permissions to the folder
Error occurred while downloading the file from FTP. WinSCP Timeout."

But restarting is not a great solution because it production box and we can't restart it during business hours.

Winscp version 5.1.4(Build 3020)

Did anyone faced this issue and know any permanent solution?
Did latest WinSCP has this issue fixed?

This is a known bug in older versions of WinSCP:

Please upgrade and restart you server.

For one time we can upgrade and restart but restarting is not a great solution because it production box and we can't restart it during business hours.

Which version has this fix?
Do upgrade will make sure it will not occur again?
Which latest stable version should I use?

Restarting is the only way to recover your system. If the problem did not occur yet, and you are far away from it happening again, you do not really need to restart it. But there's no way to tell exactly how far are you away from the problem happening. So we recommend you to restart.

Which version has this fix?
See the tracker.
It has all the information you ask for.

Yes.

Which latest stable version should I use?
There's only one "the latest stable version", 5.5.6.

Re: Timeout waiting for WinSCP to respond.

Hello,

Am getting error 'Timeout waiting for WinSCP to respond' error while trying to download a 5.5GB zipped file from FTP to a temp location.
Protocol used: FTP, with SSL explicit encryption.

I can observe the temp file growing to about 5.1 GB and then getting stuck for few seconds and finally returning above error.

Am using version 5.9

Below is what is there in the logs:
