Clicking About Dialog causes WinSCP ver 5.7 to crash

When I click on Tools and select About WinSCP 5.7 tries to display the About Application box but fails and presents a Windows error box showing WinSCP has stopped working and gives an option to Check online for a solution or Close the program.

The About Dialog worked fine on version 5.5.6 build 4746, but fails on version 5.7 build 5125. I also tried versions 5.6, 5.6.1, and 5.6.2 and the About Dialog failed.

I'm running WinSCP on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Server Pack 1 (OS version 6.1.7601.2.1.0.18.10).

WinSCP 5.7 works fine on my production server with same the OS version shown above, but failed on my test server. I found out the test sever does have 6 additional updates: KB2506143, KB2716513, KB2809215, KB2809900, KB2823180 and KB295789. So I'm guessing one of the updates caused the issue.

I don't really need the About Dialog but was concerned there might be other issues. I have run a few connect and transfer tests but have not seen any other problems with version 5.7.

Has anybody else seen this type of failure when trying to display the About Dialog? Please see attachment.

The new About dialog uses "Internet Explorer" component to render thirparty-components information box. That's what likely fails on the system.
I'll look into that.
Though you do not have to be afraid about other problems as this is really isolated to About (and New version notification) box.

I wanted to update this issue with additional information.

The last Windows update I listed in my message above, KB295789, should have been KB2957689.

It turns out KB2957689 is a security update for Internet Explorer, so we removed it and tried the About Dialog, but it still had the same problem.

We also compared our Internet Explorer 11.0.10 options between the Prod and Test servers and made them the same but still had the issue with the About Dialog on the Test server.

After a reboot the About Dialog will work multiple times as long as that initial instance of the WinSCP GUI is up, but once you close the GUI and start it back up again the About Dialog will crash.

At this point I will go ahead and keep using version 5.7 since the problem with the About Dialog is isolated and has no effect on the core functions of WinSCP. Maybe someone else will stumble on the cause. Thank you very much for your help.
