get *.* used to only get files in earlier version now gets directories as well

Is there a preference or setting to not get directories or folders? I upgraded from a much older version and it was only getting files when I would call get *.* ? Can I change settings to ignore folders or do I have to do it in script?

The get was always recursive as far as I remember.
