allowed to switch to directories using wrong case

Hello,

I am running build 374.

When using the command line I noticed that I can access a directory such as:

/opt/someprogram/somepath

when in fact the directory is:

/opt/someprogram/somePath

If I PWD, I'm shown the incorrect directory that typed. If I try to do anything, however, I receive an error.

Should I not have received an error when trying to CD to the incorrect directory (based on case only)?

Has the path /opt/someprogram/somepath ever existed? If it did, WinSCP may have it in cache.
