2-finger scroll in right hand explorer view not working

hello,

i think i found a minor bug in this great piece of software.

I am using winscp 5.7.6 build 5874 under windows 10 build 10565 on a dell xps13 (2015), which has a precision touchpad. When trying to scroll the righthand window in explorer (details view) with the 2-finger scroll on the touchpad, the scroll bar is moving correctly, but the contents of the window does not move. When i lift fingers from touchpad, the scrollbar is jumping back to it's original position.

Moving the scroll bar directly works fine.

Doing the same 2-finger-scroll in the left hand window (treeview), everything works as expected.

Thanks for your report.

Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile.

I was not able to reproduce the problem on neither Lenovo nor Asus (both Windows 10).

Confirmation of scroll bug

I am experiencing the same scroll bug, with the same or similar model of Dell XPS13 laptop (P54G) with Windows 10 x64 and the same build of WinSCP. The two-finger scroll works in the tree view panes, but not in the tabulated list view windows. This is probably a bug in the underlying library for the list view pane.

2-finger scroll in Commander

Hi,

I am experiencing the same behavior as 'HHoitz' mentioned in original post, however this is on 'Commander' interface (when using touchpad two-fingers scrolling the bar moves but content doesn't, upon release bar moves to initial location)

- winscp 5.7.7 (Build 6257)
- there is no previous version when this worked - far as I know
- Options->Preferences->Interface->Commander
- windows 10 home/64 - on an Acer laptop

This might not be a bug but rather a new feature, but still this would be nice to have.

I'm facing the same problem with a new Dell XPS 15 (9550).

Configuration is Commander view in WinScp 5.7.7 (Build 6257) on Win 10 Pro 64bit.

I have also experienced this problem on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and now Windows 10 Anniversary Edition, using either the trackpad on the Type Cover 3, Type Cover 4, or the scroll wheel on a Microsoft Bluetooth comfort mouse. Just installed version 5.9.1, problem persists. Problem also persists on a brand new desktop computer with both a Logitech M340 mouse and the same Bluetooth mouse previously mentioned.

The scroll bar on the right hand side moves in response to an up or down scrolling gesture, but the file list does not follow; upon release of the scrolling gesture, the scroll bar snaps back to match the file list.

Thanks for the details. Can you try to attach the "Microsoft Bluetooth comfort mouse" to few other machines, to check, if you get the same problem?

I have this issue as well with Dell XPS 15 9550, Windows 10 Build 14393. It seems that WinSCP fails to work properly with the Microsoft Precision Touchpad driver. WinSCP 5.9.2 build 6958.

Greatly appreciated and many thanks to Martin!

As we later discussed over an email, it was rather a fix/update of a Synaptics device driver (which came with Windows 10 Creators Update), that resolved the problem, rather than WinSCP upgrade.
