WinSCP changing executable permissions upon editing

When I edit a text file in WinSCP, it removes executable permissions of the owner. I'm guessing this might have something to do with how I re-upload the edited file from my computer back to the remote, although the temporary folder on the local side seems to have all permissions enabled. Is there any way to avoid this permission change?
