Transferring files with long file names

Hi I am having issues with long file names and couldn't find reference to any limits in the documentation.
when I try to transfer a file with a long filename I get the following error message:

No such file or directory.
Error code: 2
Error message from server: No such file
Request code:

has anyone had similar issues?
If I change the filename to something shorter it seems to go ok..

How long is the file name? What operation are you going to use? What is your SFTP server? Can you post a log file?
