opened a session and havent done ftp

hi i have opened a winscp session with a remote server and i've not yet done any file transfer.
The remote server is getting too many connections from my server?
If this kind of a hand shake mechanism ? The host is kind of bothered with too many connections.

If you have only connected, then you have opened two connections only (the FTP control connection and a data connection for the initial directory listing).

As any other GUI FTP client would do.
