How much effort would there be to make the MSI installer ?

You have a great software, and many wants it.
Is there a big issues in making the installer MSI, since it is not being considered ?

We have no experience with MSI, so we cannot really answer that.

Not really taking this request seriously I guess...

An MSI is still a core part of PCLM with SCCM and various MDM platforms. Not having it is pretty poor and, let's be honest I reckon you could figure it out in 15 years...

Unofficial MSI Installer Available for WinSCP 5.17.10

THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL INSTALLER THAT IS NOT ENDORSED BY OR AFFILIATED WITH THE WINSCP PROJECT. DO NOT CONTACT WINSCP FOR SUPPORT WITH THIS INSTALLER. IT IS PROVIDED AS-IS STRICTLY FOR CONVENIENCE.

You can download the MSI installer from https://www.planarrift.com/Deployment/WinSCP/WinSCP_Setup_5.17.10.msi

This installer is a basic installer that deploys the WinSCP portable ZIP contents into a folder in Program Files, creates a start menu shortcut, and satisfies MSI detection criteria for easy SCCM/MECM deployment. It does not have any customization options, register any file types, etc.

The VirusTotal report for the installer can be reviewed here:

WinSCP via SCCM

If you want to use the official installer to deploy via SCCM/MECM, use the "Script" installer type and the below command line (example for 5.17.2). For future releases, as long as they don't use a new installer technology, the only things you need to change are the version number in the setup.exe name and the version number in the Value Data property. Possibly the winscp3_is1 piece of the Key also if it stores in a different registry key.

WinSCP-5.17.2-Setup.exe /SP- /VERYSILENT /NORESTART /ALLUSERS

Use the following detection criteria:
Type: Registry
Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\winscp3_is1
Value Name: DisplayVersion
Data Type: Version
Make sure to check the box: "This registry key is associated with a 32-bit application on 64-bit systems"
Select "The registry setting must satisfy the following rule to indicate the presence of this application"
Operator: Greater than or equal to
Value Data: 5.17.2
