Commands not working in windows ftp server

Hi Martin,

When we are tying to execute windows dir , get , put commands in winscp we are facing below error.

'dir': Command not understood.

WINSCP Version used: 4.1.8

FTP server :Windows Machine

Can you please let us know why we are not able to execute in windows ftp server but we were able to execute Linux commands in Linux server. Attached is the error message. Is this is any access issue?.

With FTP protocol, you can execute only FTP protocol commands:

With SFTP/SCP protocols, you can execute shell commands (if you have a shell access to the SFTP/SCP server).
