Can´t transfer (copy) from remote site; error 255

I'm having the same problem.

This is probably the same issue as discussed in this FAQ.

I get a error when im in terminal saying error 255

/private/var/root$ ssh -l root xxx.xxx.x.xx
Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal.
Host key verification failed.

what does this mean?

WinSCP cannot execute commands that require user input.
