empty file after editting if quota of hosting is full

I had have problem with writing files witch I was editting localy to server if quota is full, it was error message cannot write but if I checked file on server it was empty (I expecting old version of file.) I lost data in file.

That's unfortunately a common behaviour of many SFTP servers, particularly of OpenSSH. Though I do not blame them, it's actually a common behaviour of file systems and operating systems.
