Suggestions: File Manager mode, keyboard shortcuts

Suggestions:

1)I would really welcome a File Manager mode. I mean a local 2 pane mode.
WinSCP would be a great free alternative of Total Commander.
I like the interface of WinSCP.

I see, there would be not needed big changes to allow 2 local panes.

2) Customizable keyboard shortcuts.
This would make possible to have similar keyboard shortcuts like Total Commander has, so migration would be easier.

I hope you will consider implementing these features.

Thanks in advance!

There would, definitely. Believe me.

What keyboard showrcuts are not similar?

For example,
- bookmarks: CTRL+D
- ftp bookmarks: CTRL+F

But I'm sure there are some.

Even if 2 pane version would need more work, I think it would really worth it.
User number of WinSCP would really increase with this feature.

I want 2 local panes as well. (and 2 remote panes)

Hi,

I think having 2 local panes would be a great feature.
I'm quite astonished, that it is not already implemented.
If the design is good OO-technique it should not be that hard to have
either to local panes or two remote panes (i also like to have this feature)
or the standard (only) mode there is now.

Looking forward to the next WinSCP version.

I promise I will donate if i find this feature one day.

Great piece of sw anyways.

cheers,
Daniel

Yes it would be really great to have the ability.
The existing file manager capabilities would totaly suffice.
the minimalist approach would be very good.
other filemanager are often totaly overloaded.

Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts

I would like to reiterate the idea of having customizable keyboard shortcuts. Or at least the ability to choose layout separately from keyboard shortcuts.
For example, I would like to have the "Commander" layout with "explorer" keyboard shortcuts.

But customizable keyboard shortcuts would be the best option for the most user satisfaction.

I hate hitting F5 an expecting the panel to refresh (as this key does on most windows programs), and accidentally initiating a file transfer instead.

Thanks for all your great work!

2 remote panes

I have recently bought a NAS that runs on Linux and I am searching for a program to manage the files on it. The box doesn't have a VGA plug so the only way to access its contents is through SAMBA, SSH, FTP etc. or its web interface.

I would really like to have 2 remote panes in WinSCP so that I can find duplicate files or files with different version etc. and organize them more easily.

Re: Suggestions: File Manager mode, keyboard shortcuts

Was this "local 2 pane mode" feature considered to be implemented?

Is there any chance to have implemented in the future?

Thanks,
Webmaster33

Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

I would like to reiterate the awesomeness of a custom keyboard shortcuts feature.

It would be very nice to have such options.
