Unable to paste password

Updated to 5.21.7, but don't know what was previous version.
WinSCP has been faultless to date making uploads simple. However, attempt to log in to server thwarted by being unable to paste , or type in password. Help appreciated.

Can you please elaborate? What exactly prevents you from pasting or typing the password? Can you post some screenshots documenting the problem?
