Same LAN, two clients, different scenarios

Hi,
we've got two clients both sitting on the same LAN, both trying to connect to our customer's site. One gets through w/o any problems, the other keeps getting Network error: connection refused. How is this possible and where to look for a solution?

I would suspect local firewall (like the one from WinXP SP2).
